Englewood accepts its newest resident with open arms: a murderous secret society, a conspiracy behind a spate of missing girls, and dark clandestine rituals better left forgotten. When Rose knocks the first stone over, an avalanche of secrets threatens to bury her alive. Can she figure out who to trust before becoming just another memory?

Hello everyone! We’re the team behind Englewood After Dark. We are currently still releasing episodes from Season 2 and you can check those out here. We are now opening casting for Season 3 of Englewood After Dark.

EAD Season 3 is a horror/mystery audio drama following Rose as she attempts to understand the memories buried in her subconscious before the sinister forces on Englewood Campus find out who she is.

Season 3 deals with memories, and as such we are casting for three different stories across three different timelines: The Spinner (1823), The Allotter (1910) and The Inevitable (1999).

We are casting for main, supporting and ensemble voices, and lines will be recorded asynchronously, though we will be trying to do table reads for various timelines. Please note that recording will not begin until November 2026, with a projected release date of October 2028.

We are hoping to crowdfund for season three, and would love to be able to pay you for your time. As such, we are aiming to complete a pilot episode by June 2027 to help our efforts. For transparency’s sake, depending on funding, rates offered might get impacted. If our fundraiser hits only 50% of its target, then you can expect to receive 50% of what we promised and so on. The inverse is also true, in that your rate will increase if we achieve more funding than anticipated.

You’re welcome to audition for the parts you feel comfortable playing. (Cisgender actors are asked to please not audition for parts specified as transgender or non-binary.) Some character descriptions include preferences regarding age, race, or accent. Please take note of these when auditioning, but unless otherwise specified in the description, these are just preferences. Please audition anyway. We go into casting with open minds.

The Inevitable

The main storyline taking place in 1999, where the other two stories are delivered via Rose. Rose attempts to understand the memories buried in her subconscious before the sinister forces on Englewood Campus find out who she is.

  1. Rose Carver [22] (she/her) Primary Role [$250]

    1. Jaded but still incredibly curious about what exactly is going on with the dreams that feel like memories. She has a strong sense of justice that comes across as nihilism but it’s mostly just because, for the most part, she cannot fight the injustices of the world. However, when she can do something, she’s very extra about it. She’s a girls’ girl - she loves women. Quippy, dry, sarcastic. Rose is a lesbian, so only Queer actors will be considered for this role.
    [Casual] Oh, no. This is all my stuff. I’m not much of a... stuff haver.
    [Yearning, Lost] I just... ever since I got here I’ve been... it feels like deja vu? Like things are so familiar. And I feel like I have these memories that I can’t quite remember.
    (Aggravated) Can we drop the high school drama? I do what I like with whoever I like. Now, fuck off, Mindy.

  2. Irene Verona [24] (she/her) Primary Role [$250]

    1. Big daddy issues. Cocky and can be incredibly manipulative. Underneath it all, a vulnerable person who genuinely falls in love with Rose’s idealism. A history buff who knows a lot about the lore surrounding Englewood. A massive flirt. Irene is a trans woman, so only trans women will be considered for this role.
    [Impassioned] I can’t just let him get away with this over and over again. I can’t.
    [Menacing] Said the hanged man to his brother? Shame you don’t seem to realise it yet. You’re just as dead as the rest of us. Once you’re no longer useful.
    [Chagrined, Comforting] Don’t be sorry. I’m just trying to-- look, stuff is fucked up for everyone, not in like a ‘don’t complain’ way, but in like an ‘I get you’ kind of a way.

  3. Marigold (Mari) Karasu [19] (she/her) Primary Role [$200]

    1. Rose’s roommate and friend. Wants to help Rose, but often gets rebuffed in favour of Irene. Empathetic, intelligent, stubborn. Kinda into Arthur. Mari is of Japanese descent, so only Asian actors will be considered for this role.
    [Perky] What can I say? I’m an enlightened being. Plus, imagine only ever being friends with people just like you? Sounds lame and boring.
    [Annoyed] That’s the mildest hazing I’ve ever heard of. Cool your frickin jets.
    [Aggrieved] They're being so theatrical about it too. I have to stay in until they call to tell me where to go. Cloak and dagger idiocy.

  4. Amber Reed (she/her) [21] Supporting Role [$100]

    1. Editor for the Englewood Edition. Sleuth. Smarty pants. A good person. On the trail of a decades-long conspiracy. Mari’s old friend and new friends with Rose. Pragmatic, curious and kind.
    [Concerned] You’re really rushing? You know that sorority house is fucked up.
    [Reading newspaper aloud, on verge of a breakthrough] Simon Rosewood, Englewood Alumni, settles lawsuit with Whitehead trust. Defamation, huh?
    [Worried, Angry] How can I? Those guys, the Sons of Whitehead, they're the same groupies that were hovering around Ludwig Schmidt, the Murder Farm Serial killer. They're dangerous and you're out here just traipsing into their lair-

  5. Arthur Harden (he/him) [20] Supporting Role [$150]

    1. Believes in the greater good, but has a hard time with what that might entail in practice. He likes Mari. Very straight-forward in the way he talks to people, his way of flirting is incredibly upfront. Arthur is a trans man, so only trans actors will be considered for this role.
    [Angry] There's only one person to blame and it's whoever did this. The buddy system, curfews, needing to be careful where you set your drink down ... you shouldn't be having to do any of that in the first place.
    [Teasing] Come on, sorority girl settles down with fraternity guy? Tale as old as time.
    [Concerned] So, watch yourself, pledge. Kappa Phi has some hazing practices that are... beyond the pale.

  6. Mindy Beaumont [19] (she/her) Supporting Role [$70]

    1. Irene’s number one fan. Half in love with Irene but for the wrong reasons. Hates Rose. Vain and haughty.
    [Snide] Honestly, it works - the wet t-shirt look. Suits you.
    [Angry] Oh my god this isn't high school drama you idiot. This is about you being so far in over your stupid head that you don't even realise the dan-(ger)
    [Condescending] Normally the people she likes have something about them. You know. Something remarkable. But you- I don’t see it.

  7. Nancy Nielson [21] (she/her) Ensemble Role [$60]

    1. Englewood’s premier shock jockey aka Nasty Nancy, runs a pirate radio station. Loves her radio persona. Is often ‘on’ as Nasty Nancy even while not on air.
    Welcome back Englewood Freaks and Freakettes! Nasty Nancy is coming right back at ya with the best undiscovered bands you wish you’d heard of. I’m so nice, helping you not to be such a loser.
    Poser-thon is upon us, known to the uninitiated as Rush Week. (Faux cheery) Yay! The streets are about to be awash with girls looking to take over the world one cult of sisterhood at a time.     1. A student in over his head. Works with Nancy on the Pirate Radio show.
